hazy learns to laugh!

yesterday morning i was playing with hazy while jana was asleep, and i got her to semi-giggle a couple of times... there had been a few maybe-laughs in the past, but that was the first time where i was pretty certain that the noise coming out of her was indeed a laugh.  but then later in the day, she did it again for both of us, and more emphatically than the first time.  jana and i have watched this video probably 12 times (together, at least... plus i'm guessing she has watched it a few more other times without me), just because it melts us every time.  we're done, we're melted.  seriously.

also, today was hazel's first time ever going to dim sum brunch, going to a car wash, and seeing an engine.  serious milestones, i tell ya. 

hmmm... again, the video doesn't seem to be working for some reason when we look at the blog on our iphones... use the desktop site for maximum video-watching. 

in other news, hazel tried on some sunglasses.  and oh yes, we bought them.

Hazy learns to give kisses

Hazy is becoming more interactive and more fun every day. She is wanting to sit up more often (though not on her own yet) because she loves to look at the world around her, she is exploring her voice, and she is showing us more and more of her cute expressions - she has a very expressive face.

I wanted to share some highlights from the past few weeks along with a super cute video of her and me from last night where she is learning to kiss :). (for some reason the video seems to be having some issues when looking at the blog on a phone, but it seems to work ok on the desktop site...)

She's found both of her hands and tries to fit them both into her mouth. Unsuccessfully thus far.

She often naps on my lap, so I thought I'd try to nap on her lap. She decided to pull my hair.

3 months today!

hazel the bazel is 3 months old today!  i think i speak for both jana and i when i say that the past three months have felt like muuuuuuch longer than that in some ways, and have also felt like the blink of an eye in other ways.  hazel has already changed so much- i mean, she's still mostly a (very cute) helpless little blob, but now she's a blob who can smile at you, look at what you're pointing at and maintain her focus (she particularly likes her book about different kids of fruit), hold her head up, and even use her hands!! (sort of.... ok, at least she's vaguely beginning to realize that she has hands).  she might have even laughed the other day!  maybe.

the 12 week photo extravaganza!!!

ok, so the frequency of these posts is clearly slowing down... and what better way to make up for it than by posting a whole bunch of photos from the past week to celebrate hazel's 12-week birthday?  no better way.  and there's even a video too!  so yep... in the past week, hazel has spent some time outside exploring our yard, enjoyed a mini-laser show, made some real cute faces with her mom, and even (partially) discovered her hands and the fact that she can actually use them for something!  seriously... check it all out!
